About Us
In 1979
ten businessmen from the Glendive community, Richard P.
Carney, Dale Cox, Duane D. Friez, H.D. (Bob) Hilger,
Albert C. Houck, Curtis A. Meeds, Robert E. Newton,
George Samuelson, Westley J. Toepke and George J.
Urbanec, decided to charter and open a new bank in
Glendive. On October 23, 1979 they received the charter
for First Fidelity Bank.
In 1993 Terry Lobdell, Steve Ohs, Westley J. Toepke,
Gene Weinreis and Brian Robertson purchased First
Fidelity Bank and in 1994 changed the name of the bank
to Community First Bank. Their choice, in the new name
for the bank, was done to thank the past, present and
future customers for their patronage ….. because the
owners felt that the community comes first. Thence the
new name – COMMUNITY FIRST BANK.
